Details of Webinar Organised: 
 
1. Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Mewar University organised a webinar on “Smart Manufacturing and Automation” on 21st May 2020 in association with The Institution of Engineers, India. The main objective of the webinar is to give hands on experience on the latest tools of manufacturing and automation and highlight the opportunities in automation techniques in industries.

2. Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Mewar University organised a webinar on “Start-Up: Way to achieve Self – Reliance” on 19th May 2020. The webinar resonates the mission of Mewar University that is to produce confident, self-reliant and responsible youth for the society. The speaker of  the session was Mr. Yashwant Suthar, Founder and CEO of Lootel,an Indore based startup. The startup has served more than 4 lakh people in a short span of time.  He has shared his views on various topics and  emphasised on learning rather than earning. According to Mr. Suthar earning is a by-product which comes automatically if we have done good market research about the feasibility of your idea. He recommended students to join SLIP ( Startup India Learning Program), an online program offered by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He also recommended the legal identity for the startup and recommended students to join the startup for better exposures of work and also to identify the passion and work for that. More than 50 students were part of this webinar from various departments of the University. The interaction was hosted by Mr. Kapil Nahar, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering. The initiative was taken under the able guidance of Dr. Tanveer Ahmed Kazi, Dean, Engineering and Mr. D.K. Sharma, Dean, Academics. 
 
Industrial Visit
 
Department of Mechanical Engineering has conducted an Industrial visit on 31st October 2018. 30 Students of B.Tech and Diploma went to “Shree Alloys Private Limited, Bhilwara.” The company was established in the year 1979. It is involved in the manufacture of steelwork fabrications, process equipment, materials handling equipment for cement/ sugar/power/chemical / metallurgical / fertilizer/petrochemical industry.
The visit was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Manvendra Kumar Singh( Assistant Professor) and Mr. Lakhwinder Singh( Technical Assistant). The student learned about the fabrication process and various Non-Destructive Techniques. Mr. Sudhir Mishra, Mr. Arvind Pandey and Mr. Sukhpreet Singh (Alumni’s of Mewar University) guided the students about the multiple processes. Mr. Kapil Nahar( Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering) expresses his gratitude for Mr. Harish Gurnani( Director, Training & Placement) and Dr. Tanveer Ahmad Kazi( Dean Engineering) for their support and motivation.
 
Guest Lecture
 
The department of Mechanical Engineering has organised a guest lecture on ‘ Steam Turbines and Velocity diagram’ on 23rd October 2018. The topic is very much important for mechanical engineering students and many questions have been asked in GATE and IES examination from this topic. Mr. Rohit Sen( Lecturer, Govt. Polytechnic College, Chittorgarh) has delivered this lecture. He has 23 years of experience. The lecture was very interactive and feedback from the students is very positive.
 
Student Participation
1. IIT Kharagapur : Final Round of “Pipe Design Workshop” was held at IIT Kharagpur on 3rd & 4th February 2018. More than 300 students from all over the country participated in it. Seven students from Mechanical Engineering Department took part in it and got 4th,5th & 6th Position and received certificate of honor.
 
2. Mechanical Engineering Department Students got 1st and 2nd Position at National Level Championship:
 
Four Students of Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mewar University attended the AISI (Automotive Industrial Simulation Internship) and ASBC (Automotive Styling Boot Camp) program which were held at JSS Academy of Technical Education, Bengaluru under Expertshub Industrial Skill Development Center. More than 180 students from various engineering colleges participated in this event. They worked on various projects along with their teams and our students obtained first and second position in the completion held.

Mechanical Engineering Department is regularly organizing workshops and conference.We have organised following programs:

  2. ISTE workshop on “Fluid Mechanics” conducted by IIT Kharagpur
  3. International Conference on Supply Chain Management
  4. Workshop on Vehicle Dynamics
  5. Workshop on Pipe Design conducted by IITB
  6. Workshop on Quad-rotor design conducted on 10th-11th march 2019.
